About

I grew up in Southern California. I served in the US Navy for seven years as a Logistics Specialist, being stationed in Norfolk, Virginia for about three and a half years, before reporting to my next duty station, which was Camp David, where I served another three and a half years. I left the military as an E-5 with the Enlisted Surface Warfare qualification and a few other awards, most of which everyone gets just for serving, but also a Navy and Marine Corps Medal, and the Presidential Service badge for my time at Camp David.

I attended the University of the Arts in Philadelphia where I majored in Graphic Design and minored in Animation. I obtained my Bachelor degree and also gained three years of work experience before I graduated.

Most of the work I have done is based in print design, which is where I feel most comfortable. I worked for four years at ASTM International, where I worked almost exclusively on printed materials. I had the responsibility of creating the bi-monthly magazine from cover to cover, collaborating with the communications department editors, who provided the text content.

A bulk of the work at ASTM involved brochures and flyers, but also posters and vertical banners. I honed my skills with InDesign and Illustrator while at ASTM International.

Additionally, we created web content for the ASTM website and affiliate sites.

Currently, I work in the U.S. Mid-Market Communications department at Arthur J. Gallagher, where I am able to work with a multitude of different clients of varying sizes and industries. This has allowed me to work with different brands on a nearly weekly basis. Our primary work revolves around company benefits that our clients provide to their employees. I assist with the design and creation of benefit guides and supporting materials, especially in the period leading up to and during annual open enrollment.

Not only does working with many clients require nimbleness with creativity, it demands attention to detail and time management. We have very tight deadlines and can at times have very heavy workloads. While this is stressful, it is also satisfying to see a project through to its completion and successful implementation.
